The work at FMRP is diverse and the project is massive. We need skilled workers with a variety of trades, project management, senior management, and administrative positions. Mechanics, Plumbers, Mill Wrights, Heavy Equipment Operators, Site Security personnel, Water Treatment Operators, Carpenters, Environmental Technicians, and Mine Rescue Personnel.

FA 003- Standard First Aid/CPR-C

A comprehensive 14 hour course delivered in a 2 day in-class setting or Blended (online training & 1 day in-class). This courses offer first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR-C) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid & CPR. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR & AED.

 

YFN 001 – Yukon First Nations 101

Yukon First Nations 101 has been developed to educate students, employees, and the public about the history and culture of First Nations in the Yukon. The course also touches on the cultural values shared among Yukon First Nations today and how to communicate respectfully with First Nation individuals and communities.

Yukon Tech Talks

The Yukon Tech Talks are FREE  1-2 hour discussion courses on new technologies for all Yukoners via Zoom. This introductory program is designed to give learners a better understanding of new technologies and to start using the latest devices confidently themselves.

Each Yukon Tech Talk will introduce new topics for participants to discuss: SMART’ devices, computer operating systems, how to care and maintain devices, how to protect themselves from online threats, scams and fraud, making and sending emails, banking and shopping online, and much more!

NOST 101- The Circumpolar World

Introduces students to the landscape, peoples and issues of the region. It examines the geography, biological and physical systems of the Subarctic and Arctic, then turns to the aboriginal and contemporary peoples of the region. It also surveys some of the particular issues facing the region including: climate change, economics, environmental stewardship and political climate. This course is offered online.

Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs Program

IWE is a program designed to cultivate a community of Indigenous Women who thrive in their industry while creating meaningful relationships with others who are on the same journey. Offers counselling, coaching, workshops, training and lending to registrants.

 

Entrepreneurial and Business Development Program

EBDP promotes economic self-sufficiency for Indigenous people in the Yukon by providing financing for small and medium-sized individually-owned Indigenous businesses and for community-based projects.

Fall Protection – End User

This course is designed to address the hazards associated with working at heights and the fall safety systems commonly used to reduce the risks. Tradespeople, Telecom specialists, construction workers and bridge maintenance staff are just a few professionals who will benefit from this course. 


 

Leadership for Safety Excellence

This is a two-day VILT course designed for people in management and supervisory positions in Territorially regulated workplaces in the Yukon. This program enables supervisors to build health and safety into their every-day planning, create and promote a safe work environment where people can work safely, and help make a lasting contribution to the reduction of incidents in all industries.

 

Skid Steer Training

This skid steer training program is designed to provide heavy machine operators with a solid foundation in Health & Safety Standards, preventative maintenance, and proper procedures for safe operation. Our heavy machine operator training courses consist of classroom theory, and practical hands on experience. 

 

Aerial Platform/Scissor Lift Operator

This training program is designed to provide elevated work platform operators with a solid foundation in health and safety standards, preventative maintenance and proper procedures for safe operation. The course consists of classroom theory with a written component and practical, hands-on experience. Course content is delivered through a PowerPoint presentation and interactive discussion, and reinforced through workbooks, supplementary handouts and Practical training

 

Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Training

This one-day course thoroughly introduces committee members and representatives from territorially regulated workplaces to their roles and responsibilities. This program is appropriate for joint health and safety committee members and health and safety representatives in the public, private, and NGO sectors, and covers diverse workplaces through scenarios and illustrations.

BEAHR Indigenous training programs offer locally customized learning that provide accessible and meaningful career development to First Nation, Métis and Inuit members to overcome barriers to employment and develop competencies needed to actively contribute to Canada’s growing environmental sector.

The courses offered provide introductory training to those who want to work in the environmental sector in Canada.
